Interview: You should complete, at minimum, a one 30-minutes interview (remember, preparing for and completing interviews counts towards collaboration hours) with a teacher for this assignment.  This teacher should work with our youngest learners, ages 0-6.

Format: APA Style 7th edition is required for this assignment.  We understand that this may be your first time using this format as this is a 200-level course.  Because of this, it will not be a focal point of assignment grading, but rather something for which we provide some feedback for growth.  Your paper should be 3-5 pages in length and include the following:

• Introduce the interviewee
  • Use an alias or initials for your interviewee for this assignment, in order to maintain confidentiality.
  • Example information for the introduction could include the number of years this person has spent teaching, what type of setting they teach in, age of the children they teach, what their teaching philosophy is, etc.
• List of questions asked with a narrative summary of the responses (you may indicate exact words with quotes, but the rest should be paraphrased to show your understanding).  For example,
  • Q1: How many years have you been teaching?
  • A1: 12 years in preschool, “I feel like I have been teaching my whole life”
• Summary and reflection (response to each bullet should be at least a paragraph in length)
  • What is something new that you learned about high quality child care during this interview?
  • What difficulties are present in providing high quality child care as a teacher?
  • What additional resources would benefit this teacher in their effort to provide high quality child care?
  • What did you find most interesting during this interview?
  • What questions do you have after completing this interview?  What do you want to learn more about?
    • Each of these prompts requires a full paragraph response separate from each other.  In other words, you should have at least 5 strong paragraphs in order to receive full credits on your summary and reflection.
