begin with a topic sentence; it should directly connect to the thesis
smoothly integrate 1-2 specific and relevant examples from the text
you MUST provide in-text citations for your quotes and paraphrases
be sure to introduce the quotes AND discuss the quotes after you provide them so it is clear how they support the thesis

begin with a TRANSITION and topic sentence; the topic sentence should directly connect to the thesis
