Weekly short papers: Students are required to turn in a weekly summary
response/reaction to the assigned reading. These responses are not to exceed 2
pages (not less than 600 words) typed, single-spaced, 1-inch margins and must be submitted at the end of
the week on Saturday evening. All papers must be edited and proof-read. Please
do not submit papers that are full of grammatical errors and lack structure and
coherence. Please submit responses in the Assignment area of Canvas.
Because you have very limited space, you will need to focus on identifying and
synthesizing central themes in the reading. Summarizing content is one small
element of this assignment; more important is your ability to critically assess and

analyze the strengths, weakness, and relative contributions of the literature to the
broader questions being covered in the course.
