Conduct research on the topic of teacher retention and write a brief to inform the school board on the conditions and root problems. This is a major issue in many states and districts/politicians have a poor understanding of it.  This brief should have a minimum of 6 credible works that are cited (from peer-reviewed journals–use the library or google scholar), use APA format (generally), and recommend strategies for dealing with it. 
 This research will give you the foundation to advocate for a particular retention strategy.  It will also help you improve your professional writing abilities, which are essential to effectively articulate your point of view.
It should be outlined as follows:
Introduction: Scope of the issue, why it matters, what you are going to show
Literature Review: Synthesize research on the issue, identify the problems
Policy/District Recommendations: What solutions do you recommend based on the literature?
I would recommend focusing on a particular dimension of retention. For example, there are policy aspects (e.g., salary, accountability practices), organization aspects (e.g., working conditions, climate), and social/cognitive aspects (e.g., job satisfaction, expectations, perceived support). While they are all interrelated, pick a dimension to narrow the scope. 
Here is an example of a policy brief download. Use it to get an idea of the tone, structure, and content. Yours does not need to be formatted like this one but should serve as a guide otherwise.
