Discuss current medical management and treatment (surgery, medication, intervention approaches) 3. Identify diagnostic tests/procedures used by the medical community in diagnosing this disorder/disease- This may include- MRI, CT scans, blood work, EMGs etc. Briefly discuss typical findings /results of these diagnostic tests that one might have with the diagnosis. 4. Given the signs and symptoms, what rehabilitation providers would likely be involved with the overall care of a patient with this disorder? Why? Think Occupational Therapy , Physical Therapy, psych, speech, etc. Part Two: Here you are discussing the specific case (20%) 1. Identify and describe the impact of the disorder (signs and symptoms) on mobility, function, ADLs, involvement in their community, etc. for the specific patient described in the case. 2. Given the history and information provided on the patient briefly discuss and identify concerns/issues re: developmental context, home /living environment, physical, cognitive and psychosocial concerns of the patient and or family for the specific case you chose. Part Three: Evidence Based Research and apply it to the case (20%) 1. Use one evidence based article that describes current PT treatment of the disorder. Briefly explain the article (what the study entailed) and the implications for the case given the information you have learned from the article. Can this treatment be applied to the patient in the case? Would it be helpful? Why or why not? If you have trouble finding an article, try searching exercise rather than physical therapy or rehabilitation. ?Resources (5%) 1. Your use of resources also accounts for 5% of your assignment grade.
