After learning about citizenship and the idea of community – both physical and digital Essay

After learning about citizenship and the idea of community – both physical and digital – you will construct a brief write-up that explores these concepts.
If you have not done so already, get started by visiting the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ myUSCIS site (Links to an external site.) and taking their Civics practice test (Links to an external site.).
When you are ready to write, your Write-up must contain the following sections, each separated in your paper with a bolded subheader. Each section should be no less than eight sentences.
Introduction: Include an opening hook and any necessary background information about citizenship and community in general, and then more detailed information about how this functions in a digital environment. The introduction must end with a strong thesis that forecasts the development of the paper. For guidance on how to write a thesis statement, this website is helpful (Links to an external site.).
What is Citizenship?: Building on the ideas explored in the Module 1 discussion board posting, discuss the concept of citizenship. In this section, be sure to use the ideas of Anderson and Ohler in addressing ideas of community, both physical and digital.
How Does Someone Become a Citizen?: In this section, explore what it means for someone to become a citizen. How does one accomplish this? Are there different “requirements” in physical spaces for digital ones? Be sure to address the ideas of Ohler and Anderson, and also refer to your own experience with the the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Civics practice test (Links to an external site.).
What Does it Mean to be a Citizen?: For the final body paragraph of your paper, provide your own thoughts on citizenship. What is it? Is it easy to achieve? What are the implications of being a citizen? Is being a citizen different in physical spaces versus digitally? Why or why not?
Conclusion: End with a strong conclusion that ties all of the ideas in the paper together and leaves a lasting impression for the reader.
Pick a writing style (MLA or APA) and be consistent in use. There are online web links to help with MLA and APA styles, along with the manuals sold in most bookstores.
To submit your assignment, click the Submit Assignment button and select Browse My Computer to locate your file. Your file must be in .doc or .docx format.
Once your file is submitted, you will be assigned three random peer reviews. You must take the time to leave quantitive and qualitative feedback on your peers’ assignments. The amount of feedback you leave – as well as the quality – will greatly affect your final score.
