CMIS 245: Assignment 3: PowerPoint

Credit Weight: 30% of your final grade; minimum passing grade: 50%

Due Date: after you complete the readings and learning activities for Lessons 10–13.

Please review the Submitting Assignments page before you begin this assignment.

You must download data files to complete each textbook exercise. Refer to the Assignment 3 Dropbox page to locate these files.

Instructions: General

Each exercise will require you to create or modify one or more files. The assignment instructions state exactly how the file names for the results should be constructed. For example, for PPT Exercise 1, the instructions require the input file p01c1Franchise.pptx.

Save this file as p01c1Franchise_LastFirst.pptx.

Replace LastFirst with your name, e.g., p01c1Franchise_SmithJane.pptx.

Each exercise will specify which created or modified files should be submitted for marking.

Note: In most instances you should follow the activity instructions as presented in the text. However, for certain activities, some additional notes, amendments, clarifications, or corrections are provided. These are included in the specific instructions for each activity.

Measurement Units in PowerPoint

Unlike Word and Excel, in which users can set the units of measurement within the application, PPT uses the default measurement units as set in the user’s operating system. To avoid requiring students to change measurement units in their OS (which would affect other applications), we have provided the metric equivalents for all the measurements specified in the PPT exercises.
