In 6 Leadership Styles, And When You Should Use Them (Links to an external site.), Peter Drucker states, “Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.” Management and leadership are truly two different roles. Managers provide the necessary tools to ensure employee success, whereas leaders use their skills to guide employees toward success. Reading Drucker’s article will help you gain a different perspective of your own leadership style and will introduce us to the concept of organizational leadership.
Prepare a paper in which you expand upon the following points:
Consider what you have learned this week about various leadership approaches. What is your preferred leadership style? Does it work in your current organization? If so, why? If not, how do you need to modify to improve the effectiveness of your leadership style?
Describe a scenario where you were able to apply your leadership style. What were the results?
How would you need to modify your leadership style to adapt to a multi-cultural setting and perhaps a virtual setting?
Use outside research to support your reasoning.
Use a minimum of four credible sources, which may include this week’s supplemental reading and other sources, to support your findings and conclusions. Please refer to the grading criteria listed below.
