Public health determinants include biological factors, the physical environment, social and cultural factors, individual and group behaviors, and the availability of health services.

Watch the video “Determinants of Health: A Framework for Reaching Healthy People 2020 Goals” and read the essay “Public Health Professionals, ‘Don’t You Forget about Me,’” both linked on the Learning Objects page.

Then post an original response addressing these prompts:

• What do you consider the most important community health or public health issue? Why?
• What governmental policies or regulations impact that issue? How do they impact the issue?
• How can interprofessional healthcare teams collaborate to address the issue?
