Part 2: Writing the Case Study

This will be similar format as your case study on LeAlan, just longer.  Remember, we both read the same book about LeAlan, but I won’t know the person who you are interviewing, so you’ll need to provide some more context.

 

Introduction:

Provide an introduction to your subject that provides some background for your adolescent.  You must include:

  • first name or initials
  • age and grade
  • gender
  • race/ethnicity
  • physical appearance
  • life circumstances (including family structure, socioeconomic status, and any other information you think is important to share upfront)

This is going to be the foundation of what the reader will know about this person, so use the Introduction to…introduce this person (what a clever name for this section).  Any additional information that will provide context for the reader should be included here.

  1. You should include your introduction in the box that is provided in the Case Study 2 Template Document.
  2. Your Introduction should be approximately 2 paragraphs.
  3. Be sure that you write in complete sentences, with proper spelling and grammar.
  4. Please double-space your Introduction

 

Development Sections:

The written report of your interview should be a case study analysis in which you attempt to explain the essential features of this adolescent’s life. It should not be a simple description of what the respondent said; rather, it should be a well thought out assessment of this one adolescent.   In essence, you will be comparing what you learned about this adolescent during the interview (from their responses and through observation) with what we have learned/are learning about adolescence in general in this course.  As you fill out each section, be sure to support your assessment of the
