Professional Psychology Paper: Each student in the Psy.D. program will write a 3-4 page essay (double-spaced) comparing and contrasting the three specialty areas of professional psychology: clinical, counseling, and school psychology. Students should discuss the similarities and differences one would expect to see in the professional orientation of a colleague they are working with who was trained as a clinical psychologist, a counseling psychologist, or a school psychologist. In addition, students should discuss the benefits of completing a program that combines the specialty areas of clinical and school psychology and how such a program fits in with their clinical interests, research interests, and future career goals.
