Respond in 100-150 words to each post:The Discovery Stage, Pioneering Stage, and Maturing Stage are all important within the development and discipline of family studies. The discovery stage was centered around the initial need and desire for family studies to be established. The pioneering stage was centered around the initial research and development of family studies. And the Maturing Stage built upon the establishment and research of the previous stages.

The historical stage that I would have liked to be a part of as a researcher would have been the Pioneering Stage. This was when the distinction was made for the need of a study centered around marriage and families which was distinctively different from sociologists, home economists, and social workers. The work I would have been involved with would have been forming what family studies is and what it entails. Before research and data can be collected it is important to focus in on what should be studied and how it should be studies.

As a researcher, I would have been a part of forming, identifying, and naming family studies and then collecting data and research to zero in on the diverse family units and marriages within the field.

            The most significant event during the Pioneering Stage that I feel is most significant in shaping family science as we know it today, was naming the discipline itself.
