Social media has changed the nature of most of our connections with other people, including elections … which are the “fundamental connection between voters and elected officials in republican government.”  (Greenberg and Page, 274)”  How has social media changed Presidential Elections?
Has it allowed anyone (with their phones, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, etc.) to be a political reporter … even if the laws don’t yet recognize them as such?

Has it made it easier to stray from the facts (i.e. make claims of election fraud, assert that vaccines don’t work, etc.)?
Has it done something else?
How do these changes manifest themselves … can you compare a pre and a post social media presidential campaign to show the difference?
Has the pandemic magnified the impact of social media and the internet?
Are these changes good, bad, or something in between?
How should we respond to these changes in this most fundamental of connections, the one between voters and elected officials?
