no need for citations please read the followingWe the People…… – Our Vision of A New NationPREMISE – Again, we’re going to do some time-travelling.  This time, the year is 1787.  Our thirteen colonies are now free from the tyranny of Great Britain, but we have a whole bunch of new problems.  We have no real governance to keep all thirteen colonies unified, let alone provide for any unified way of funding the development of necessary infrastructure to build a nation, such as roads and canals.  And what about the confusing issue of currency?  Each colony has its own currency, which makes travelling between colonies a dicey affair.  Who knows if your dollar from New Amsterdam shall be honored in Pennsylvania for its face value?  And the voting and property laws in each colony?  We don’t even want to go there!!  Our thirteen colonies are highly unequal and floating dangerously apart.  We’re like a great ship without a rudder.  We need guidance – and fast!!  
DIRECTIONS – In this discussion, you shall be tasked with the duty of a statesman (I’m sorry, but there were no “stateswomen” at this time, so we must endure this gendered language as a bias of the era) from a specific colony to draft a “skeleton” version of your vision of what the Constitution should look like. 
Now, I will provide you with a template of what you should include in your skeleton draft of the Constitution and a few documents that you can use to assist you in drafting your version (if you wish to use them).  I will also provide you with a couple issues facing your assigned colony that you must keep in mind as you draft your Constitution as it will ultimately bear some influence on how you address some of the issues in the Constitution’s structure. 
Once you have your draft completed, you will post it as your initial response.  You will then respond to a classmate’s post.  I encourage you to thoughtfully but respectfully engage with your classmates – this does not mean you have to agree with them, but it means to keep in mind that everyone is entitled to have their own opinion, even if it differs dramatically from your own.

Issue: Until the arrival of slaves, your colony relied on the labor of indentured servants.  However, it didn’t    become a rich colony until slavery and the cash crop tobacco were introduced.  It is safe to say that your colony has benefitted immensely from the introduction of slavery.  Given this observation, what is your defensible stance on the issue of slavery?
