quotations or unnecessarily long quotations

Read Book X and summarize its argument in 750 words. You need to include a minimum of two short quotations from the original text in your summary. Using more than two quotations or unnecessarily long quotations, will not necessarily strengthen your summary, so try to be strategic in how you use your quotations. Before you write your report you may want to consult secondary sources to make sure you correctly understand the text you are summarizing. Whatever secondary sources you consult (even blog posts if you are going to consult those) must be included in a Works Consulted page, as they have contributed to how you understand the theory. Be very careful, though, not to reproduce the exact language of any of the works you are consulting unless you are quoting the consulted works directly. No leniency will be given to reports that accidentally reproduce the language of a consulted work; this is plagiarism. Your grade will be based on how well your have understood the theoretical text you are summarizing and how well your summary is written (style, clarity, grammar, etc.).
