Evaluate the theories of social development in early adulthood.

Understanding the self and relating to others are critical aspects of life in early adulthood. Various theories have been formed in an attempt to explain how and why this happens. The two most prominent are those of Levinson and Erikson. Both are explained well in Chapter 9.

• Review Chapter 9 in your text.
• Write four paragraphs explaining and personally evaluating the social development theories of Levinson and Erikson in early adulthood. Devote two paragraphs to each theorist.
