This is a research paper on the invasive problems of Phramgites australis, the common reed.
This is a research paper on the invasive problems of Phramgites australis, the common reed. All students enrolled in this course are expected to fulfill a class project. This involves gathering information on the history, biology, ecology, impacts, and control aspects of one major invasive weed. The ecophysiology of the weed that contributes to its invasive status should be focused adequately. The write-up should discuss at least twelve primary research articles (not reviews). The write-up should have title, a 300 word summary, text, and a reference section. Reference section should be formatted according to ‘New Phytologist’ guidelines. The recommended length for the write-up is at least 12 pages, (double line spacing, 1 inch margins, Arial 12-point fonts, and excluding figures, tables, and references). The evaluation of the project will be primarily based on the intellectual synthesis on the topic, rather than compilation of results from research papers. The ecophysiology of the species that facilitate its invasiveness should be the focus of the paper (sample write-up will be provided). Using figures and tables are encouraged but are not counted towards the 12 page requirement. The last FOUR pages are to be dedicated to the conclusion where the student’s perspective on the invasiveness of the study species should be discussed. I have attached a sample write up of another plant
