Using the Cuban Missile Crisis as a starting point, discuss in a scholarly paper

Using the Cuban Missile Crisis as a starting point, discuss in a scholarly paper different international theories to explain the confrontation between the United States (President Kennedy) and the Soviet Union (Nikita Khrushchev).Attached at the link is a document listing possible research topics for your paper requirement in this course.  You may pick any of the topics listed to write your paper, all without further approval from me.  Please refer to the syllabus for more details on how to proceed.  Note that this paper constitutes 25% of your grade in this course, and it must NOT be taken lightly.  You will submit your papers through the Canvas system directly back to me in “text entry” format, and you MUST document your work, all as set forth in the syllabus.  I am looking for scholarly, organized and effective college-level writing all in accord with the “Gordon Rule,”  which by now you all should understand.  Note that you have a full month to craft and submit a quality product.  I will be reading each submission very carefully, and note well that plagiarism of any kind will result in “0” points for this assignment.  Also note that late submissions will NOT be accepted, all per the syllabus.
